Gloucester County Landfill Open Monday As Storm Cleanup Continues

The Gloucester County Solid Waste Complex will be open on Labor Day as residents continue to clean up following Wednesday's tornado.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — The Gloucester County Solid Waste Complex will be open on Labor Day as residents continue to clean up in the aftermath of a tornado that struck the county this week.

The landfill will be open from 6 a.m. to noon on Monday, Gloucester County officials announced. Residents who were impacted by the storm can bring debris and drop it off for proper disposal.

“Residents, county crews and municipalities are working to clear the debris caused by the September 1 hurricane,” Gloucester County Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger said. “Roads continue to be open, and we are now focused on debris removal.”

Dumpsters remain at Southeast Avenue in Wenonah and Salvatore Ave in Harrison Township, officials said.

“We will continue to offer these dumpsters to all affected townships and borough as streets continue to be cleared across the county,” Damminger said.

Gloucester County Public Works crews will also be picking up debris at houses. Anyone who has debris that needs to be removed is asked to leave it at the front of your house for pickup.

“We ask residents to be patient as we begin pickups across the county. It’s very important to keep debris off the roadways, so do your best to keep it close to the curb line,” Damminger said. “We are committed to rebuilding. We can do this together, Gloucester County.”
