NJ Man Slammed Cat On Concrete, Tossed Into Dumpster: Police
A NJ man is facing animal cruelty charges after his neighbor allegedly viewed doorbell camera footage of him slamming a cat on the floor.
WEST DEPTFORD, NJ - A South Jersey man allegedly seen on video violently throwing a cat onto concrete several times and tossing the animal in a dumpster has been charged with animal cruelty, authorities said.
Christopher Pozzi, 51, of West Deptford, was charged Monday and remanded to the Salem County Correctional Facility, West Deptford police said.
The charges stem from a video captured by a neighbor’s Ring doorbell at the Forrest Creek Apartment Complex on Sunday around 10:18 p.m., police said. In the video, Pozzi reportedly lifted a cat over his head and violently threw the animal on the floor repeatedly, only to throw the cat out of view later on, police said.

Members from the West Deptford Police Department and West Deptford Public Works emptied the dumpster later that night and found the cat, “which was still alive but had extensive injuries,” police said.
The cat was then turned over to Gloucester County Animal Control and is currently being monitored by medical staff.
