On October 18, 2025, RCSJ Roadrunner Women’s Soccer won Garden State Athletic Conference Championship, clinching top seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 19 playoffs.

Brianna Howard and Riley Cogan got the Roadrunner Women's Soccer squad started in the right direction Saturday -- and their Runners teammates held on to the early momentum to win the biggest game of the 2025 season, a 2-0 triumph over host Brookdale CC.

The win clinched the Garden State Athletic Conference championship along with the top seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 19 playoffs.

Howard scored a quick goal 5 minutes into this key battle, and then Cogan extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal later in the half.

From there, the Runners executed flawless defense, with defender Brianna Morgan leading the way, in preventing Jersey Blues' top scorer Bella Tomassini from inflicting any damage. Tomassini entered the contest with 19 goals, which was third in the nation among NJCAA DIII players.

"It was great having that early lead, but we knew Brookdale would give it everything they had in the second half -- and they did," said first-year Coach Tom Eichhorn. "We received some great defensive play from Brianna Morgan and from a few others to keep it that way."

The Runners concluded the regular season with a 9-3-2 overall record, 5-0-1 conference mark, six-match win streak along with a No. 3 NJCAA Division III national ranking.

"We talked about all of this at the beginning of the season and we set some very high goals for the team," said Eichhorn. "These players worked hard against a tough schedule, and they were able to check off a lot of boxes. They have tremendous work ethics and our coaches are confident they will carry this success into the postseason."

Next up will be the Region 19 tournament, and the team will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed with a first-round bye.
