Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expands To Gloucester County: Latest Forecast
Monday's storms could bring "damaging" winds of up to 60-70 mph, large hail and flash flooding, officials said.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — Weather officials expanded a severe thunderstorm watch Monday afternoon to include portions of South Jersey — including Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties.
The severe thunderstorm watch for the region began at 1:10 p.m. Monday and is set to run until 9 p.m. The National Weather Service predicted that Monday's storms could bring "damaging" winds of up to 60-70 mph, large hail and flash flooding.
The greatest potential for severe thunderstorms will come after 4 p.m. Monday, the agency said.

The thunderstorm watch now includes the following New Jersey Counties: Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.

- Monday afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Monday: Showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog between midnight and 2 a.m. Low around 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Tuesday: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
