'Dream Home' Turns Nightmare As Buyers Stalked By 'The Watcher'

Just three days after a couple closed on their $1.3 million “dream home” in Westfield, disturbing letters began to show up from a stalker who identified himself as “The Watcher.”

The couple is now suing the original owners claiming they knew of “The Watcher’s” threatening letters, but did not disclose any information while selling the home.

It started in June of 2014, when the alleged stalker wrote disturbing messages such as “My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time,” according to nj.com.

“Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Once I know their names I will call to them and draw them to me. I asked the (prior owners) to bring me young blood,” the stalker also reportedly wrote.

In the lawsuit, the couple claims they can neither live in nor sell the home because of the letters and seek reimbursement with interest, according to NY Daily News.

The couple, who have three children, say they are too scared to move in to the six-bedroom house due to alleged threats the letters contained such as “allow me to watch you and track you as you move through the house,” according to Courthouse News Service.

They are so frightened, they’ve even asked for their names and address of the home to be kept private. Nobody knows the identity of The Watcher and according to 6 Action News, the family isn’t willing to pursue it.

The couple claims the previous owners received at least one letter from The Watcher, Courthouse News Service reported.

In the interest of protecting his clients’ privacy, the couple’s lawyer declined to comment to Patch.

The incident has gained national attention, causing Westfield’s Mayor to address the situation during a Council meeting on Tuesday.
