Flood Warning In Union County

Showers are expected to continue for the rest of the day on Wednesday and continue into Saturday.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — A Flood Warning has been issued in Union County by the National Weather Service(NWS) on Wednesday until 5 p.m.

Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen either more to come, according to the NWS.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Plainfield, Summit, Clark, Union, Westfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains, Cranford, Roselle, Roselle Park, Berkeley Heights,
New Providence, Kenilworth, Fanwood, Mountainside, Garwood
and Springfield.

Wednesday Afternoon: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 63. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7 p.m., then a chance of showers. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 58. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Areas of fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 74. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent with rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a slight chance of showers after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: A chance of showers before 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., then showers after 2 p.m. High near 81. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Saturday Night: Showers before 8 p.m. Low around 59. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
