New Café To Open In Westfield, French Martini Set To Close
A new coffee shop is slated to open on East Broad Street, while The French Martini — a fashion accessory store — will close next month.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A new coffee shop is set to open in downtown Westfield, while another business will soon close its doors.
Fortis Coffee, which also has locations in Indonesia, is slated to open at 218 East Broad Street, the former Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming store, according to Samantha Horning — the new Executive Director of the Downtown Westfield Corporation.
Horning was unable to provide Patch will additional information about the café's opening.

According to the chain's website, Fortis Coffee offers a variety of coffees, teas, quick bites — such as small sandwiches and croissants, as well as larger entrées.
In other business news, The French Martini — a fashion accessory store in Westfield — announced earlier this month that it will close its store in February.

"Beginning February 1, 2023, we will no longer be operating out of our 41 Elm Street location," the store wrote on its Facebook page. "As our business and personal lives continue to evolve and change, this was a bittersweet decision to make, but we are excited for the future, where we plan to focus on our home styling projects, our families, and re-consider our role in local retail."
This month, the store is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week, with lots of discounts and significant markdowns on all inventory, including the shop furnishings.
Horning said multiple applications have been submitted to fill the vacancy at 41 Elm Street, where The French Martini is located, but no decisions have been made yet.
Westfield also recently saw the closure of the high-end kitchen appliance store Williams Sonoma. The windows of this store are currently covered in paper, and Horning said she does not know for certain if the store has moved out of the building yet.
