New Firefighters, Captains Welcomed Into Westfield Fire Department

Chief Michael Duelks was joined by Town Clerk Maureen Lawshe for the official swearing-in ceremony.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Fire Department celebrated a number of new hires and promotions over the last few days.

Jack Clarke and Theodore Trojan are joining the agency as Probationary Firefighters. They now begin training and will soon be assigned to their shifts.

Town of Westfield Clerk, Maureen Lawshe, was on hand to officially swear in Clarke and Trojan alongside Westfield Fire Chief Michael Duelks.

"The members of the Westfield Fire Department wish FF Clarke and FF Trojan a long and successful career," the agency added.

Firefighters Michael J. Sawicki and Daniel Genovese were also promoted from firefighters to captains.

Their new assignments went into effect on Monday.
