One Dead After Fiery Multi-Vehicle, Fuel Tanker Crash On Route 78
A fuel tanker exploded on I-78 in Union today in a multi-vehicle crash near Exit 52 in Union, killing one. All lanes were also closed.

One person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash caused a tractor trailer to explode into flames, closing down both sides of Route 78 in Union today, State Police say. A video of the crash can be seen below.
The tanker carrying 9,000 gallons of fuel exploded shortly after 1 p.m. near Exit 52 on Interstate 78, News 12 reports. Photos and videos taken at the scene show multiple vehicles and a truck engulfed in flames.
Local and express lanes on Route 78 were closed at 1 p.m. Firefighters, some of whom reported from the Port Authority Aircraft Rescue Fire Department, were able to put out the blaze by 3 p.m., according to NJ.com.

State Police have confirmed that one person is dead, but no other injuries have been reported at this time.
