The Westfield Area Y Devilfish is hosting a makeup tryout day for the 2015-2016 team on Wednesday, September 9.

The Westfield Area Y Devilfish is hosting a makeup tryout day for the 2015-2016 team on Wednesday, September 9 at 4:45 p.m. at the Westfield Area Y Main Facility located, 220 Clark Street in Westfield.
Current members and the community are welcome to tryout. Swimmers are expected to know all four strokes. Interested participants will need to complete an information form and participation waiver signed by a parent/guardian prior to tryouts. The form and participation waiver are available at the Welcome Center or by contacting swimteam@westfieldynj.org.

“Our swimmers thrive, improve and succeed because we provide a high level of competitive training and professional instruction with a coaching staff that is YMCA and USA Swimming certified and head coaches that are Level 3-certified by the ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association). Our goals are to motivate and challenge swimmers to reach individual potential while contributing to the success of the team. The Y four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are an essential part of the curriculum to ensure character-building is also a benefit of being a part of our swim team community,” states Brian Guidera, Westfield Area Y Competitive Aquatics Director.
The Westfield Area Y Devilfish are a nationally-recognized competitive swim team of over 200 athletes ages 6-18 years that compete in USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming dual and invitational meets. Qualifying swimmers also compete at regional and national meets. Pre-teams are instructed by Devilfish coaches and have developmental and semi-competitive groups.
