4 Adults Charged In Central Jersey High School Knife Fight: Police

Four adults from New York were charged Thursday following a fight with students involving a knife outside the school, authorities said.

SAYREVILLE, NJ - Four adults from New York were charged Thursday following a fight with students involving a knife outside Sayreville War Memorial High School, authorities said.

Christopher Forlenza, 25, of Brooklyn, Jeremiah DiMedici, 19, and Christopher Torres, 24, both of Staten Island, were charged with assault and conspiracy to commit assault, Sayreville police said.

David Martinez, 27, of Staten Island, was also charged with possession of metal knuckles.

The incident, which stemmed from a dispute between two male high school students, resulted in adult age family members and associates of one student to show up to the school after dismissal at around 2:20 p.m.

Video evidence captured by bystanders show an adult appear to brandish a knife or object and assault one of the involved students, police said. The student in the video was not injured by the brandished object, but did sustain minor injuries from the assault, police added.

Two suspects were arrested immediately at Kennedy Park, while three individuals who fled the scene were tracked down by Middlesex County K9 units. NJ101.5 initially reported that Torres was the suspect found with the knife in Kennedy Park.

“By 4:30 p.m., 2 hours later, the suspect in the video was arrested along with an accomplice who were found to be in possession of a knife,” police said in a statement.
