Assistant Boys Basketball Coach At Colonia High Dies Suddenly
Danny Brix, the assistant boys' basketball coach at Colonia High School, passed away suddenly at the age of 30 on Wednesday.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The assistant boys' basketball coach at Colonia High School passed away suddenly at the age of 30.
The death of Colonia assistant coach Danny Brix was confirmed Friday by Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac, who said he had no idea how the young coach died.
The mayor also remarked on Brix's young age, just 30.

Colonia Athletic Director Ben LaSala confirmed the news to Central Jersey Sports Radio Thursday morning, saying Brix died late Wednesday afternoon. LaSala did not provide any additional information on his passing.
The Colonia boys’ team is in the middle of a state tournament. LaSala said the high school boys are "still processing" the news.

Brix attended St. Joseph High School, the private boys' Catholic High School in Metuchen, where he was a stand-out on their basketball team. He helped St. Joe's win two GMC Tournament titles, in 2011 and 2012.
