Family Pit Bull Mauls Infant To Death In Woodbridge, Mother Injured
An infant was killed and the mother seriously injured by the family dog Saturday morning in Woodbridge:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — An infant was killed by the family dog Saturday morning in Woodbridge, in what Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone called "a tragic death."
This happened early Saturday morning in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. The dog was a pit bull.
At 6:17 a.m. Saturday, police received a 911 distress call from a home on Mereline Avenue in Avenel for an unresponsive baby believed to have been attacked by the family dog, said Woodbridge Police Director Robert Hubner.

Officers located the mother and baby who sustained serious injuries from the dog. The baby was pronounced deceased on scene while the mother and father were transported to the hospital for treatment.
