New Delivery Service Opens in Woodbridge

Curbside Delivery is a food delivery service that specializes in home and office deliveries of hot food from local restaurants.

A pair of brothers in Woodbridge want to serve you lunch.

They want to make sure it's hot, delivered quickly, and exactly what you wanted.

Curbside Delivery is a new food delivery service in Woodbridge that is making an effort to differentiate itself from other delivery drivers in town.

Wilson and Jeff Kowaleski opened the company about a month ago with the intent to offer fast delivery with a smile, particularly from area restaurants that do not offer delivery service.

Here's how it works:

Diners call their restaurant of choice and place an order. They then call (732) 723-TOGO and provide their order info to Curbside Delivery.

From there, a Curbside Delivery driver is dispatched to the restaurant to pick up the food. They visually confirm the order is correct and call the diner back to let them know its on the way. The food is then delivered to the home or office.

Wilson Kowaleski, 26, said the operation strives for a polished, professional look. Drivers wear uniforms, and they provide their name and deliver with a smile.

"You feel like it's a personal service," he said.

But there's also a bit of fun to it, Jeff Kowaleski, 18, said, with weekly promotions, and a friendly staff.

EZ Pay Accounts are also available for diners to deposit money into to have on hand, Wilson said.

The delivery fee is $11, and the drivers will go as far as 11 miles from their Woodbridge base of operation.

Wilson said the delivery fee is minor for larger orders, like those for offices.

"$11 is a tip on $40-$50 worth of food," he said.

When asked why not just become delivery drivers for hire to pocket some fast cash, the brothers said they wanted to start up their own business and offer emplyment to people who want to work as delivery drivers.

Currently, Curbside Delivery has a small handful of drivers on standby who can be called up to make deliveries, Jeff said.

They're also looking for more people to work part-time jobs as delivery drivers, Wilson said.

"We want to do good in what we're doing now," he said.

First-time clients get $3 off the delivery fee, and a "like" on the Curbside Delivery Facebook page will also result in $1 off.
