Firefighters from several Middlesex County fire stations responded to an early morning fire in a Colonia backyard, fire officials said.
COLONIA, NJ - Firefighters from several Middlesex County fire stations responded to an early morning fire in a Colonia backyard, fire officials said.
At the scene, fire crews from Avenel, Colonia and Woodbridge found a fully-involved fire in a shed and pile of lumber in the backyard of a S. Middlesex Avenue residence, Avenel Fire Department officials said in a statement.
“Crews quickly deployed an 1 3/4" handline and knocked down the fire,” the department said. “After overhaul operations were completed, all units secured and returned.”

No injuries were reported by fire personnel or the homeowners, Avenel fire officials told Patch.
The shed and fencing materials around it were the only items destroyed in the fire.
