Senior Olympics Underway

The games are expected to draw more than 1,000 senior citizens from around the state to compete in 16 events this weekend.

Saturday morning marked the official opening of the New Jersey Senior Olympics, an annual event that is expected to draw more than 1,000 senior citizens to compete in 16 events.

The event has taken place for the last seven years in Woodbridge.

Open to adults ages 50 and older, the olympics include a range of events, including swimming, track and field, basketball, bowling, bocci, table tennis, golf, and billiards.

The Senior Olympics began on Friday and will continue through today, Sunday, Sept. 8.
