WOODBRIDGE, NJ — If you're looking for a new watering hole, or just a scenic spot to enjoy the sunset and summer views, Anchor’s Tiki Bar on the Sewaren waterfront in Woodbridge is now open.

The tiki bar was in soft opening mode this week, and will be open Saturday and Sunday from 2-10 p.m., announced Mayor John McCormac. Local band Hollow Molly plays Sunday at 5 p.m.

The waterfront tiki bar is located at 616 Cliff Road, Sewaren. It's a full-service bar with a full liquor license.

This is the brand-new tiki bar at the Woodbridge municipal marina in Sewaren; it overlooks the marina. McCormac said the town originally wanted to open a full waterfront restaurant at the marina, but had to scale it back because it was costing too much money.

Instead, the town will allow food trucks to park there. Cousins Lobster truck was there earlier this week, serving their popular Maine lobster rolls.

Woodbridge also added more boat slips to its municipal marina, and plans to make improvements to the adjoining dog park off Cliff Road. There are even plans to add a walking bridge connecting that area to Alvin P. Williams Park. That is far off in the future, however. No date has been given when the walking bridge to Alvin P. Williams will be built.
