Construction is underway at Woodbridge Center to convert the center court into a space with smoother pedestrian traffic and new kiosks.
The project will even the floor of the courtyard out to be even with the rest of the flooring on that level, said Dave Albertson, spokesman for Woodbridge Center.
"(Visitors) will be able to walk all the way through without worrying about a couple of steps down," he said.
The project also entails the removal of the fountains in the center court to better accommodate pedestrian traffic.
A number of new kiosk retailers will also open in the space.
The project is scheduled to take about eight weeks, and barricades have already been placed around the courtyard to prepare for construction, Alberston said.
It should be completed before the holiday season, he said.
