Angry That Wyckoff ShopRite Was Closed On Thanksgiving, NJ Man Defaced Store: Cops

A NJ man left a "vulgar" note on Shoprite in Wyckoff expressing anger about them being closed on Thanksgiving, police said.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A man left graffiti on ShopRite in Wyckoff last month, expressing anger that the store was closed on Thanksgiving, police said.

Police said the act occurred on Nov. 27, the day of the holiday.

"An individual used a permanent marker to write a vulgar message on the glass entry door expressing anger over the store being closed on Thanksgiving," police said.

Sgt. Michael DeMaio investigated and identified the perpetrator as a 44-year-old Midland Park man, police said.

The man was issued a complaint summons charging him with one count of criminal mischief, police said.
