Dog That Fell Through Ice At Wyckoff Pond Dies

The dog fell through the ice at Zabriskie Pond Thursday morning, police said.

WYCKOFF, NJ —The small dog that fell through the ice at Zabriskie Pond Thursday morning has died.

An animal control officer from TYCO animal control confirmed Friday night that the dog died.

Authorities performed CPR on the pup after he was pulled from the water, but they were unable to save the dog's life.

Police responded to a 10:45 a.m. call that a dog was walking on the ice, said Lt. Joseph Soto. They saw the dog in the water in the middle of the pond. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and pulled the dog from the water.
