Comic Opera at YMCA

The Wyckoff Family YMCA will stage a night of comic opera at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at its Carl Pfeifer Performing Arts stage, 691 Wyckoff Ave.

A centerpiece of the evening will be Puccini's one-act comic opera "Gianni Schicchi," performed in English. Also on the program are scenes from "The Barber of Seville," "The Impressario," "DieFledermaus" and "The Merry Widow," along with some operatic surprises. The program is sponsored in part by the Max KadeFoundation.

Included in the local cast are Adelmo Guidarelli, Katherine Cardin, Josh Benevento, Reegan McKenzie, Sean Santry, Lauren Pearson, Steve Fredericks, Gregory Wright, Matthew Haines, Andrea Long, Mark Quiles, Ernie Revell and Matt Wallace.

The production will be directed by Reegan McKenzie, with Georgianna Pappas serving as musical director and accompanist.
