Franklin Lakes Synagogue to Welcome New Rabbi

Temple Emanuel of North Jersey in Franklin Lakes will formally install Rabbi Joshua B. Cohen at 1 p.m. Sept. 26 at the synagogue, 558 High Mountain Road.

The rabbi comes to Temple Emanuel from Tel Aviv University in Israel, where he taught courses in Jewish education. Previously, Cohen was spiritual leader of Temple Beth Emunah of Brockton, Mass. Cohen and his wife, Sarah Bierman, have a 5-year-old daughter, Sidney, and a newborn son, Shenan.  

State and local officials and clergy will be in attendance. Rabbi Marc Wolf, vice chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary, will be the installing officer. The public is invited.
