The following is a police blotter from the Franklin Lakes Police Department:
- Jan. 11 – As a result of a motor vehicle stop, Mitchell Malkin, 20, of Oakland was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
- Jan. 16 – 12:08 p.m. – A Tortoise Lane resident reported that between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., unknown persons had burglarized her home and entered by forcing open a rear door. The bedrooms were the primary focus of attack and a yet to be determined amount of jewelry was taken from the home.
- Jan. 21 – 10:52 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Colonial Road, Drew Taylor, 18, of North Haledon was arrested and charged with DWI, careless driving, possession of marijuana, possession of oxycodone, possession of alprazolam, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
