Franklin Lakes Theft Blotter
Multiple car break-ins and thefts; Jewelry stolen from home.

The following is a press release from Franklin Lakes Detective Lieutenant John Bakelaar:
- 12/21/14 – An Arbor Road resident reported a theft of jewelry from his home. There are no signs of forced entry. The case has been forwarded to the Detective Bureau.
- 12/20/14 – A High Mountain Road resident reported that during the overnight, unknown persons had entered his car and removed sunglasses and a wallet containing cash.
- 12/20/14 – A Haddon Place resident reported that during the overnight, unknown persons had entered her car and removed miscellaneous tools.
- 12/20/14 – A Tanglewood Court resident reported that during the overnight, unknown persons had entered her car and removed a GPS unit and a gas card.
Many police departments have advised residents to lock their vehicles and leave lights on in their home when leaving to make it appear the house is occupied due to an increase in alleged thefts and break-ins during the holiday season.
