WYCKOFF, NJ – The Wyckoff Historical Society has launched a fundraising effort to continue its work to preserve a 300-year-old cemetery in town.
A GoFundMe campaign seeks to raise $10,000 to help restore headstones in Union Cemetery.
Over the last few years, the historical society has restored a portion of the grounds and wants to continue its work to clean up the cemetery and preserve the township’s past.

Various community groups, Boy Scouts and Girl scouts have volunteered to help the historical society maintain and clean the cemetery.
Originally called the Van Blarcom Cemetery, the property’s earliest graves date back to the late 1700s after the American Revolution.

The cemetery is home to many early settlers and their descendants. It also contains the remains of Revolutionary War and Civil War soldiers.

On Oct. 19, the Wyckoff Historical Society plans to lead a special tour of the cemetery. Details will be announced soon, according to the society.
