Bergen County Man Sexually Assaulted Child Under 13, Prosecutor Says

A Bergen County man was charged for sexually assaulting a child under 13 in Hasbrouck Heights, prosecutors said.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 36-year-old Hasbrouck Heights man turned himself in on Monday after being charged in August for sexually assaulting a child, prosecutors said.

Vincenzo Carbone was charged on Aug. 30 with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault by contact, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The office of Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said that on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the prosecutor's Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child that had occurred in the past in Hasbrouck Heights.

An investigation by prosecutors and local police determined that he had sexually assaulted a child under 13.

He turned himself in to the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department Monday and was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
