'Seriously Injured' Teen Driver Extricated From Car After Striking Tree: Wyckoff Police

An 18-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Wyckoff, after the car lost control and slammed into a tree.

WYCKOFF, NJ — An 18-year-old was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon and had to be extricated, after the car veered off the road and struck a tree on Franklin Avenue in Wyckoff, police Lt. Kevin Kasak said.

The driver of a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Franklin when the car lost control while negotiating a curve and collided with a tree on the front lawn of a home, Kasak said.

Fire crews pulled the badly hurt driver from the vehicle, and the person was then taken to an area hospital, police said.

The vehicle was then towed away from the scene, police added.
