Two Uninjured After Tree Slices Wyckoff House During Storm (UPDATE)

Two were uninjured after a storm caused a large tree to topple on a Wyckoff house. See photos and more information here.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Two people in a Wyckoff home escaped uninjured when a tree fell on it Saturday, police said.

The police and fire departments were dispatched around 4:40 p.m., said Wyckoff Police Lt. Joseph Soto.

The tree was uprooted during a brief rainstorm.

"Arriving officers observed that a large tree had uprooted from the front yard and landed on the south side of the house, causing significant damage," Soto said. "The home was occupied by two people during the incident and they were uninjured. After the tree was removed, the Wyckoff Fire Department assisted the homeowners with securing the house."

The Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department wrote, "Crews secured the utilities and remained on location for several hours assisting the tree removal company."

For now, dry weather is expected in Wyckoff for the rest of the week, with highs in the 80s.
