Winter Storm Hektor Forces Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes Public Schools to Have Delayed Opening

The delayed opening comes after forecasts say New Jersey will be hit with freezing rain, sleet and snow Sunday night into Monday morning.

The Wyckoff Public School District and the Franklin Lakes School District will each follow a 90-minute delay schedule for Monday, Jan. 12 after forecasts say Winter Storm Hektor will slam New Jersey with freezing rain, sleet and snow Sunday night into the Monday morning commute.

“Due to the predicted inclement weather, all Wyckoff Schools will observe a 90 minute delayed opening,” said a statement from Richard Kuder, Superintendent of the Wyckoff Public Schools.

The National Weather Service issued both a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Winter Weather Advisory for much of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, saying a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will arrive on Sunday night and Monday morning.
