Wyckoff Police Offers Birthday Drive By For Area Kids

Parents who give police 48 hours notice can schedule a police drive-by with lights and sirens for Wyckoff kids celebrating a birthday.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Wyckoff kids celebrating a birthday during the coronavirus crisis are sure to encounter some disappointment when social isolation gets in the way of their parties. So, Wyckoff police are working to literally brighten kids' birthdays.

In a Facebook post Monday, police in Wyckoff announced a new program offering to send a convoy of police cars — complete with blaring sirens and flashing lights — past the home of a kid celebrating a birthday.

Police ask parents planning a birthday drive by to send an email at least 48 hours in advance. To schedule a drive by, residents should contact Officer Oldewurte at koldewurtel@wyckoffpolice.org.
