• CRRUA finishes year with all treatment plants compliant with New Mexico regulations (ktsm.com) — Sunland Park residents are getting some good news about their drinking water: CRRUA’s Sunland Park arsenic treatment plant stayed well below federal limits all year, helping the utility achieve full compliance at all four facilities. Independent lab tests from early December confirmed arsenic levels at 6 parts per billion in Sunland Park, and CRRUA says all results are posted online for public review. 
• Trump administration adds militarized border zone in California (borderreport.com) — Sunland Park briefly appears in a wider look at how the Trump administration is militarizing sections of the U.S.-Mexico border, with troops and armored vehicles previously deployed here as part of Joint Task Force Southern Border. The main development is a new militarized zone along California’s border, expanding a strategy first tested in New Mexico and other states that lets troops help apprehend border crossers on designated federal lands.
