Tell us about the first responder and how they serve the community.
PO Eng has worked tirelessly whenever the precinct was short handed, filling in for sick coworkers, often working double shifts and overtime. He recently worked 32 consecutive days without any days off; some of those work days consisted double shifts. Officer Eng is one of the most efficient, responsible, courteous, caring and professional members of NY’s Finest. He is very engaged in the community he serves and trained to be one of the best NCOs: neighborhood coordinator officers of the department. Officer Eng is loyal, extremely hard working and patriotic, first serving his country as a US Marine and then, transferred his dedication to helping others as a member of NYPD. Officer Derek Eng is an exemplary first responder and is an asset to the community and to his country. Many feel he deserves the recognition, much praise and our gratitude for his fine service.
