$10,000 Awarded to Columbia County Recovery Kitchen
The Power of the Community's Support on Social Media Helped Achieve Donation

Thanks to the community's support, MetzWood Insurance officially awarded a $10,000 donation to Columbia County Recovery Kitchen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing and delivering nutrient-rich, balanced meals to vulnerable adults and children who have been referred by county social service organizations, public school social workers and the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement. Providing over 1,500 meals each week, the $10,000 donation will help CCRK purchase nutrient-rich foods from the agricultural community in Columbia County. The cost of organic food is approximately 20% higher – and food prices continue to rise. The donation will also help in hiring a community outreach coordinator to help CCRK expand its outreach efforts to help even more people.
MetzWood Insurance originally received a $5,000 donation for Columbia County Recovery Kitchen thanks to a submission process with Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® through their 2024 Make More Happen™ Awards. A story of their local partnership was featured on the official Make More Happen microsite, https://www.agentgiving.com/MetzWood-Insurance-/, where MetzWood Insurance had the opportunity to raise $5,000 by conducting a local awareness campaign for the nonprofit. Together with the community, the goal was met and increased the total donation to $10,000 for Columbia County Recovery Kitchen.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards is all about,” said Matthew Brisk, Safeco Insurance Northeast Region Senior Territory Manager. “MetzWood Insurance is a shining example of the amazing work independent agents do in the New York area and we hope sharing inspiring stories motivates others to do the same.”
