1. Appeals court says complaint against Albany Medical Center firings can't be amended (timesunion.com) — Albany residents should know a state appeals court has limited, but not stopped, a discrimination and retaliation lawsuit against Albany Medical Center over high-profile firings tied to a community activist hire. The judges blocked former employees from expanding their complaint, yet left room for them to argue they were punished for opposing alleged racial bias and the activist’s termination after a Black Lives Matter protest arrest.

2. Land authority votes to sell 5 former Saint Rose buildings to Albany County (timesunion.com) — Albany County has approved buying five key buildings on the former College of Saint Rose campus for $6 million, further cementing county offices and the sheriff’s operations in the Pine Hills neighborhood. Neighbors support some of the sale but worry Madison Avenue properties could have drawn private buyers, boosted the tax base, and anchored a larger arts complex. County leaders say the deal opens doors for housing, innovation, and public use.

3. Horses of Unbridled: Under this roof (tapinto.net) — Just over the Albany County line near Greenville, Unbridled Sanctuary is racing winter to replace the aging roof that shelters 65 rescued horses, donkeys, and mules. Founder Susan Kayne describes how a local woman-owned roofing company and a network of neighbors are helping preserve this haven so vulnerable equines can stay safe, warm, and secure for decades to come.

4. UAlbany Women's Basketball Cruises Past Boston, Extends Winning Streak to Seven (cbs6albany.com) — Albany fans just watched the UAlbany women’s basketball team notch a seventh straight win, beating Boston 62-46 at home behind a standout night from sophomore guard Delanie Hill. After honoring late Siena coach Liam Gleason, the Great Danes controlled the game early and now turn their attention to a high-profile matchup against nationally ranked Vanderbilt next Saturday.

5. Clock ticking for Medical Aid in Dying Act in New York (audacy.com) — State officials in Albany are weighing whether New York will legalize physician-assisted dying, with Gov.
