2 Dead, Multiple People Injured In Interstate 90 Crash: Report

GUILDERLAND, NY — Two people were killed and multiple others injured Wednesday in a crash on eastbound Interstate 90 near Albany, according to multiple reports citing New York State Police.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Wednesday between exits 24 and 25 on the New York State Thruway, Albany-based News 10 reported. The crash involved a tractor-trailer and five passenger vehicles, the station reported.

Traffic was backed up for miles following the crash, according to a News 13 report.

Police closed all eastbound lanes on Interstate 90 in Guilderland, News 10 reported. The closure was expected to last through the afternoon hours. Traffic was diverted at exit 25 to Schenectady as officials investigated the cause of the crash.
