The City of Albany Department of Recreation will be holding four lifeguard certification sessions at Albany High School in advance of the summer hiring season at the city's two public pools.

- Session 1- May 16-19 from 3-9 p.m.
- Session 2 - May 23-26 from 3-9 p.m.
- Session 3 - June 6-9 from 3-9 p.m.
- Session 4 - June 13-16 from 3-9 p.m.
Participants must be 15 years of age. There is a fee of $50 and students can expect to learn how to respond safely and efficiently to water emergencies with lifeguard classes led by the American Red Cross.
