The City School District of Albany will hold two in-person forums next week in an effort gather more input on proposed scenarios that change how middle schools will be enrolled starting in September.

Find out what's happening in Albanyfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

  • The first forum is Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Arbor Hill Elementary School, 1 Arbor Drive.
  • The second forum is Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Giffen Memorial Elementary School, 274 South Pearl St.

Translators will be available at each meeting in Spanish, Arabic, Pushtu, Bengali and Swahili.

Students in grade 5 will go to middle school next year based on a new enrollment pattern that the Board of Education is working on now. Under the new pattern, each elementary school will “feed” into one of the district’s three middle schools: North Albany Middle School, Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School or William S. Hackett Middle School. You can learn more about the enrollment scenarios under review here.
