Crash Onto Lake George Bike Path Kills 2, Including An 8-Year-Old
Two others were hospitalized.
LAKE GEORGE, NY — New York State police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian Sunday afternoon in Lake George.
Police said their preliminary conclusions were that at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, a motorcyclist was speeding north on Route 9 near Lake George Expedition Park. The motorcycle went off the east shoulder and onto a paved bike path, where it crashed into a group of six people standing at the entrance.
Police said two of the pedestrians, both Lake George residents, have died from their injuries: James A. Persons, 38, and Quinton P. Delgadillo, 8.

Another local resident, Jasmine Luellen, 30, was transported to Albany Medical Center and is in stable condition. Three other children in the group were not injured.
The driver of the motorcycle, Anthony J. Futia, 33, of Albany, NY, suffered life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition at Albany Medical Center.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Warrensburg EMS, West Glens Falls EMS, Bay Ridge EMS, North Queensbury EMS, Lake George EMS, Lake George Fire, Life Net, and the New York State Department of Transportation.
