'Exceptional' Albany Student Juggles Competitive Dance & Academics

This third-grade student shines on stage and in the classroom. Meet Raina!

Albany, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

She is a student in our building.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Raina is an exceptional student and an equally exceptional dancer. She competes in various competitions across the state. Some mornings she reports straight to school from rehearsal and is ready and willing to learn immediately. She maintains a rigorous dance schedule while maintaining strong academics. Raina is a great student.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is a humble student who shines on stage and in the classroom.
