20 Minute Grocery Delivery Is Now Available In Astoria: Report
1520 started in Manhattan amid the pandemic, and now delivers to LIC, Astoria, and parts of Woodside and Sunnyside, QNS reported.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Astorians can now get groceries delivered to their homes in 20 minutes or less, according to a new report.
1520, a Manhattan-based grocery delivery start-up, has expanded its reach to Astoria, QNS reported.
The company, which already delivers groceries to Queens residents in Long Island City, Sunnyside, and parts of Woodside, is part of a burgeoning grocery delivery app market that's flourished amid the pandemic.

Founder Oleg Shevlyagin created 1520 from the Upper East Side in January of 2021, in the midst of pandemic-fueled online shopping boom.
Shevlyagin, however, credits New York's high density and New Yorkers' fast-paced lifestyles for the reason that he chose to create an app in the city, after working on instant delivery services in Europe.

"New York is one of the most populated cities in the world, and people tend to be too busy to grocery shop, it made sense to begin our launch here to meet the needs of the sophisticated NYC consumer," he told QNS, adding that he also decided to expand to Astoria because it is well-populated area.
1520 stores groceries in strategically located, non-commercial shops around the city, meaning that users choose products and the team is then able to quickly pick them up from a storage space and deliver them via bike in 20 minutes or less. The company’s average delivery time, however, is 11 minutes, QNS reported.
“In comparison, other grocery delivery services typically have someone ‘shop’ your order in an existing supermarket, which takes longer,” Shevlyagin told QNS.
