Another Instant Grocery Delivery Center Is Opening In Astoria
Getir, a Turkish start-up that promises 10-minute grocery deliveries, is slated to open at the former Entenmanns Outlet, records show.
ASTORIA, QUEENS — Another company promising grocery delivery in a matter of minutes is coming to Astoria.
Getir, a Turkish grocery delivery start-up that promises grocery deliveries within 10 minutes, is launching its stateside expansion in Astoria at the former Entenmanns Outlet, which shuttered its wholesale site at 4011 34th Avenue last summer, Department of Buildings permits show.
The company is part of a burgeoning grocery delivery app market that's expanded aggressively into New York in recent months — including Queens — much to the chagrin of some locals who argue that the fulfillment centers harm neighborhoods.
