Astoria Film Festival To Host In-Person, Online Panels In June
Astoria Film Festival is back with a hefty schedule, including a youth film festival and online workshops, starting on June 1.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Through the month of June, Astoria will feature a set of screenings, panels and award ceremonies during its film festival at Kaufman Astoria Studios and online.
Astoria Film Festival is back with a hefty schedule, including a youth film festival and online workshops, starting on June 1. The in-person events will take place in the studios located at 34-12 36th St., near 34th Avenue.
The main festival is set to take place on June 11, starting at 10 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. The studios will feature over 30 short films, web series, and podcasts from around the world, including a film about rebellious snowboarders in Pakistan and a film about border crossings in Iran.

The group organizing the event will also feature screenings and panels during its festival focused on younger filmmakers on June 10 starting at 9 a.m. Astoria Film Festival will feature 20 short films from moviemakers ages 24 and under.
Online events and workshops are also part of the festival, where actors, entrepreneurs, and filmmakers will talk about topics ranging from the use of artificial intelligence in film to creating the perfect production pitch.

To celebrate its opening, the film festival will host a party on Friday, June 9, from 8 p.m to 11 p.m. at Heart of Gold Astoria.
