The crash sent the scooter-rider flying. The victim, who had severe head trauma, remained in critical condition as of Saturday, according to police.
A dozen people have been injured in crashes at the same intersection since 2011, including seven drivers, four pedestrians and one cyclist, according to data compiled by CrashMapper.
Correction: after stating on Friday that the scooter-rider had died, and releasing the scooter-rider's name, police on Saturday said that information had been erroneous, and that the man was still alive. Patch has updated this story and removed the man's name.
