Astoria Public Library Gets $500K From FY2023 Budget

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. announced capital allocations of over $6.9 million for the Queens Public Library system.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — Half a million dollars are headed to the Astoria branch of the Queens Public Library from budget funds disbursed for the Fiscal Year 2023.

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. announced capital allocations of $10 million for Queens parks and over $6.9 million for the Queens Public Library system.

The library located at 14-01 Astoria Boulevard will upgrade its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system with the $500,000 allocated for the year.

“It was a historic year for Queens, as we made unprecedented investments in ensuring our students receive the best education possible, our families have high-quality open space in their communities, our hospitals have state-of-the-art equipment and more,” said Richards.

The library offers public computer and printing use, and Queens residents can pick up, return and request materials from the Astoria branch.

Funds were also allocated for Laurelton, Corona, South Ozone Park, and Richmond Hill branches, among other locations of the Queens Public Library.
