ASTORIA, QUEENS — A new commanding officer has taken the reins at Astoria's local police station.

NYPD Deputy Inspector Osvaldo Nunez, who has led the 114th Precinct for the past three years, passed the commanding officer's pin this week to Captain Ray Jenkins.

Jenkins has worked for the Police Department since 2004, starting out as a police officer in the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn and climbing his way up the ranks, according to a police spokesperson.

During his tenure at the NYPD, Jenkins has been the subject of at least seven accusations of misconduct, according to a NYCLU database of complaints filed with the Civilian Complaint Review Board.

He was exonerated of six of the seven charges, the records show. The seventh complaint was never fully investigated due to a lack of cooperation from the alleged victim.

Jenkins has also been named in at least five lawsuits against the city, resulting in a total of $140,000 in settlement payments.
