Astoria's Waterfront Concert Series Returns This Month

ASTORIA, QUEENS — After a week of fireworks by the river, Astoria residents will have a slew of free concerts in their backyard this summer.

The Waterfront Concert Series will return this summer at the Astoria Park Great Lawn on Shore Boulevard, between Hell Gate Bridge and the pool. All the concerts are slated for Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

The first performance by the R&B group Gentlemen of Soul will take place on Thursday, July 13, followed by the rock band BonJourney on July 20.

The disco group Dancin’ Machine is then scheduled to take the stage on July 27, and the doo-wop cohort Jersey Jukebox will be the grand finale on Aug. 3.
