Broadway Is Coming To Long Island City For One Night Only

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS – For one night only, Broadway is coming to Long Island City.

On the evening of Thursday, Aug. 26, a host of Broadway stars will perform songs from composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown's first musical, Songs for a New World, at Radial Park in Long Island City.

The one-night show, presented by New City Music Theatre, will feature an star-studded cast, including Emmy Award winner Liz Callaway — also known as the voice behind many animated Disney favorites — and Jason Gotay, who was most recently seen on screen in the Gossip Girl reboot.

Online tickets range from $30-per-person for standing room only spots, to $100 for a premium plus table spot.

Rush tickets for $15 are also available at the door for essential workers, queer students, and students of color, New City Music Theatre said. The group asks that students bring ID to the show in order to purchase a rush ticket.

The scattered thunderstorms that are forecasted in Long Island City on Thursday are expected to lift by the evening, forecasts show.

New City Music Theatre has not publicized any information about a possible rain date.
