Celebrity-Backed Pop-Up Bakery Opens In Long Island City

The Taiwanese bakery will be open seven days a week for two months, but is looking to find a permanent spot in LIC, too.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A musician and actor-backed Taiwanese bakery is open for the summer in Long Island City, according to a new report.

Bake Culture, an international bakery, opened its fourth New York City storefront at 47-05 Center Boulevard earlier this month, alongside locations in Chinatown, Flushing, and Staten Island, the Long Island City Post first reported.

The chain, which is backed by three Taiwanese celebrities, is slated to stay at the Center Boulevard location for two months, but the company's chief operating officer told the LIC Post that the bakery "wants to secure a longer lease" — or find another permanent space in Long Island City.

And this isn't Bake Culture's first foray into LIC. The bakery had a pop-up last year, and some of its items are sold at Teazzi Tea Shop in Court Square, according to the LIC Post.

For now, Bake Culture's pop-up is only available for takeout, but customers still have access to the bakery's full menu of pastries, cakes, croissants, bread, and coffee and tea — from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
