Dead Man Found Offshore Of Astoria Park, Police Report
The man's body was found floating in the East River. He is the second person found dead in the water in Queens in the past several days.
ASTORIA, QUEENS — A man's body was found floating in the East River on Saturday afternoon, the NYPD reported.
Around 3:10 p.m., police received a 911 call that a body was being rescued from the East River off the shore of Astoria Park.
Cops rushed to Ditmars Boulevard and Shore Boulevard, where they found the body of an unresponsive adult man. He was declared dead at the scene by EMS, records show.

Police said they still hadn't identified the man as of Saturday evening. The medical examiner will determine his cause of death, which also remains unknown.
This is not the first time in recent days that a person was found dead in the water in Queens. Last Thursday, Sept. 30, another man's body was found floating in Bayside's Oakland Lake.
