Early Independence Day Fireworks Are Coming To Astoria Park

The Central Astoria Local Development Coalition is celebrating Independence Day early with fireworks on June 29.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — New Yorkers looking to celebrate the 4th of July twice have a chance to view fireworks a few days earlier than the actual holiday.

The Central Astoria Local Development Coalition is celebrating Independence Day early with fireworks and music on Thursday, June 29, on Astoria Park's Great Lawn.

The celebration will feature a performance by the Swingtime Big Band followed by a fireworks show at 7:30 p.m.

The early 4th of July celebration is an annual event in the neighborhood, and has been for three-plus decades. Thursday's show will be the second time the event will be held since the start of the pandemic.
